Writing Basics a book review

The review is a summary of a large text. For example, in order to attract the attention of users to the output of a product, reviews are written. A person, after reading what is useful to him, the exhibition described in the review, will understand whether he should visit it.

In the case of the review, the reader will understand how to use information, for example, written on page 50 of the journal, and whether he should buy this publication? In general, this is a short description of a large written material.

The professor, in order not to read it in full, asks to write a short review, to understand whether he needs to open a folder and get a grasp?

This is an example of how to write reviews and generally what are they for? In fact, professional descriptions are found in different directions and much depends on the correctness of their compilation.

Important and, I’m not afraid of this expression, the main criterion is a logical assessment of the general theme of the article. It should be concretized and supported by arguments that encourage thorough study.

How are the texts of this orientation used? This is probably a more specific question. Along with reviews, writing reviews is needed in different situations. This and a brief description of your blog, some article on the site.

We live in the era of the reader’s dependence on printed and visual information. Before choosing something, the consumer re-reads a lot of information and thinks how to choose the right product?

For example, you need a laptop. But to determine a good model, it is not enough just to know that a specimen made of durable plastic is made and modern modules from well-known companies are used inside. A good description of the laptop can be stretched not on one printed page, but how to make the reader learn everything thoroughly? Of course, you need to write this of the description of the laptop, which will have all the info you need.

Reviews are well sold and well paid. Only write for sale they can not.

Classification of homework assignments

Homework assignments are veiled, that student can draw a conclusion about what final result he should receive. Classification of homework is made by specialists to help students. The basic variant is constructed in such a way that homework is in the top-down steps of checking the homework. In other words, first there are those kinds of homework that require maximum attention and concentration of forces, and then, those kinds of tasks that you can practically not do, since such work is rarely appreciated. Look at the hometasks according to the degrees of complexity on a scale from one to ten, where 10 is the limit of complexity.

Difficulty from 7 to 10

This is the most difficult kind of homework. This kind of work occurs in about 10% of assignments. The instructor pays close attention to such tasks, since it is in his interests not to miss the slightest detail. He looks at how the work is written, how the topic is revealed, whether the rules of design and text structure are observed. If the student believes that too demanding standards are imposed on a simple hometask, then it is worthwhile to apply to the department to have an open lecture, so that it is appreciated how the teacher conducts the lessons.

Difficulty 4 to 6

This is the best and most common kind of homework. In fact, this is a standard homework, which requires a reasonable amount of time.  In this type of homework should be done on time, high quality and in full. If several times grossly violate the requirements (duration, amount of registration), the teacher can personally apply sanctions to the student in the form of a poor assessment or a future hometask in the manner described above. So it’s better to try to do such tasks competently and accurately. We need to appreciate the activity and justice of the teacher. The student should give him pleasure from completeness and literacy of the homework.

Complexity from 1 to 3

Such homework is found in 30% of cases.  To speak formally, the teachers ask homework, but in fact, no one checks it. Often such a situation happens when extraordinary events occur at the university. Their main task is to pass accreditation. Also, this is possible in the situation described above. That is, the student can establish himself as a responsible and competent performer, and later homework will refer specifically to this group. But even in this case, don’t disregard the hometask. It is not excluded that the teacher still wants to test the student’s work, and later he will be surprised at the illiteracy and inaccuracy of the material presented. So, before you independently classify the work in this category, it is worth considering whether it really applies to it or not.

How to write an essay

An essay is evaluated on a number of parameters. Sometimes the reason of a low grade may be an inaccurate notebook, bad handwriting, insufficient disclosure of the topic. You must take into account many factors at the period of working on the very first version of the essay. Learn some recommendations to get the best results.

Choose the topic of your essay as carefully as possible if it is not marked in the task. You need to write about something well known for you. It is desirable to navigate the topic not superficially, but deeply, you have to know the details.

Use proven sources. Books should be taken in libraries, academic publications. Electronic versions may contain errors and inaccuracies. The most important thing is to be acquainted with the original source and make a personal opinion about it.

Keep an eye on the handwriting; carefully handle the notebook, sheets of paper. Write neatly and legibly, avoid corrections.

Think about the title if the topic is free. The title of the essay reflects its theme and idea. You can come up with a problem title, or a question-and-answer title.

Use quotes, facts of the author’s biography. All information should be relevant to the topic.

Be sure to keep track on the logic of the story. Connect each idea with the previous one; avoid sharp jumps and breakdowns of thought.

Divide the essay into semantic paragraphs, in this way it will be perceived better. You will demonstrate to the teacher the semantic connections in your essay.

Think about the composition. The best option is that type of composition, when the beginning and the end of the essay are almost the same, but paraphrased, connected by direct or feedback. For example, the question-answer, the thesis-antithesis, the thesis-thesis.

Remember, that the topic should be fully disclosed.

Carefully follow the literacy. The text should not contain logical, lexical, semantic, punctuation, spelling and other mistakes. Use only words which meaning you know exactly. Make up with the complicated suggestions. If there is a possibility (for example, the work is given home), refer to the reference literature, or the textbook.

Course work.

The most simple work is a course project. This is a job that requires at least minimal independence, but at the same time it also causes indulgence of teachers. It is already issued as a diploma – with a title page, with a table of contents, with a breakdown of the text according to the plan, with the list of literature ranked by headings (sources, research literature, etc.). The volume of the course varies from 10 to 40 typewritten pages.

When writing a course, the entire text should be subordinated to a single, if very simple, thought. Having chosen or independently formulated the topic, do not rush to run it open. You must first approve this topic. To do this, you must meet with the teacher who will evaluate your work. Talking with the teacher, try to find out from him as much as possible, since it is quite possible and highly desirable that you will not meet with him until the end of the work. Teachers like to entertain themselves by asking students topics on which there is little or no literature in Russian (and sometimes even in any language). They also ask provocative topics for people who are not oriented in the subject, or simply ridiculous, for which nothing can be written at all.

When you write a term paper, you should in any case at least superficially navigate the topic. This is due to the following circumstances.

Firstly, it is very, very likely that you will discuss the text of your course with the teacher. And in some universities even the procedure for the protection of coursework has been adopted: in the presence of several teachers and students from your group, you will have to answer questions and comments that the teachers have had about your work. Sometimes such a procedure is quite brutal.

Secondly, it is just as likely that in the future you will have to develop in other works the topic touched on in this course. It makes sense to ease yourself future work.

Thirdly, in the course work, as already mentioned, there must be at least one, even the most simple, but independent idea. To competently push it, to subordinate it to the presentation of the topic and not get into a mess, it is also necessary to at least a little navigate the issues you are concerned with.

Coursework, as a rule, is written on the second, third and fourth courses. At the same time, they differ somewhat in their level of requirements: the older the course, the more weighty, in theory, should be the creative side of student work. To circumvent the possible urgency of such requirements, and also to facilitate future work itself, it is highly recommended to plan the course work as a part of the future diploma. Then, firstly, you do not have to invent something new every time, and secondly, by the end of your studies you will have almost finished thesis.

Diploma is the most important work for any student. Diploma in its importance is below the dissertation and inferior to it in volume. However, the student who writes the diploma objectively has more responsibility, since his work is really and necessarily will be read in full. The required amount of diplomas ranges from 40 to 100 typewritten pages.

If all other student works are accepted in handwriting, then the diploma can be accepted only in printed form.

The graduate diploma should be printed in four copies – for the supervisor, for the opponent, for the reviewer and for himself. One of these copies enters the archives of the department, where it will be stored for a long time. There have even been cases when in serious scientific research references were made to the diploma works of local students.

The student is given a year to write a thesis. All graduation papers pass the aforementioned protection procedure. The date of protection is assigned in advance, however, if necessary, your protection can be transferred. To protect your work, an opponent (one of the teachers) and a reviewer (usually one of the graduate students) are officially appointed. On the defense you will be asked questions about the content of your work. On defense, as well as on any other exam, one should not accept criticism, it is necessary to conduct active defense. It is important at the same time to have the support of a supervisor.

The choice of the theme of the thesis is of great importance. Experience shows that choosing the right theme and object of study means half ensuring its successful implementation.

Subject graduation works are developed by the graduating department of the university, is considered and approved at the meeting of the department. The list of themes of the theses is annually announced to students. The student chooses the topic, usually from the announced list, but also has the right to offer his own topic with the justification of the expediency of its development. The student is recommended to choose the topic of the diploma project, which corresponds to his specialty. The main criterion in choosing the theme of the thesis is the scholarly and practical interest of the student. This applies primarily to students who for a long time purposefully, with interest gathered and processed material on a particular topic, worked in the scientific-student circle at the department. When choosing the topic of the thesis, one should also proceed from the one on which the student can most fully collect the material, widely use the practice of the enterprises and organizations of the industry, the financial and credit-banking system.
